Dzap Dau Dau is an all-girl Punk rock band from Hong Kong. After a lot of successful shows at music festivals in China, Taiwan and Macau and the release of their first full lenght album Dog Days it’s time that the grrrls also get some attention here.
Since Hang on the Box was formed by two school girls in 1998, not only their style has changed from raw punk rock to what they call themselves future rock, but they also grew to have four members and released 3 CDs in China, Taiwan and Japan, 1 Best of compilation in Uk and another EP in China.
A CD Release in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and the USA, Gigs with Asian rock legends like Shonen Knife and Beyond – Ladybug are definitely the most notorious (ex-)grrrl rock band from Taiwan. On the occasion of the band’s 10th anniversary Ladybug’s leadsinger Mei gave us a short interview.
